Same! I accidentally optimized part two out of my part one solution so I just had to remove a check and replace my visited set with a list.

I had the same problem with part two that I had with part one. My test was passing but my input was failing. I missed that you can only move the values to free memory on their left. It was a single line fix but I lost a lot of time losing my mind.

Day 8 should be pretty quick for you but don't get caught up reading the description of the problem. The text is very confusing but the examples given make perfect sense.

I found a nicer way to detect the loops by /u/rkechols by tracking the position and the direction in my visited Set but my original method was to just use a counter and check if it got to over 10000.

Yeah that was my first year doing it in real time and it was pretty intense. I made it through day 15 before I stopped but I had a few prior days I didn't finish.
