Larger parliament per capita helps a hell of a lot with responsiveness
By any reasonable standard the US legislature should be at least 2-3x its current size but I didn't think you can sell the American public on "what we really need is a thousand more politicians"

Delays due to path diversion for non-ELP flights would have been *very annoying* but also probably not as big a deal as the storms last month unpredictably throttling major Atlantic coast/midwest hubs for multiple days

Hello, logistics guy here: El Paso isn't really a huge air freight hub. The stuff that goes through there tends to be low-volume but high-value and in practice redirecting the air leg to ABQ and trucking it down wouldn't be the biggest deal in the world. Not great but not terrible.

IIRC SocDoneLeft is European (German?) which puts this in a completely different context. Paying party dues in Europe typically means you get to be the rough equivalent of a delegate at the national conventions here - vote on party policy and leadership and lege nominees.
