As we journey into the new year, let’s take a moment to pause, reflect, and center ourselves. 🌿 A prayer by Lyndall Bywater invites us to consider our path, our purpose, and God’s presence in our lives. Read more here: salvationist.org.uk/faith/explore-faith/becoming-christian

Christmas reminds us that God loves the world, and everyone in it. Christians believe this love is unconditional — a gift freely given and never earned. In the Bible, God’s boundless love is revealed most clearly through Jesus, whose life shows love in action for all.

The Salvation Army will always be there for the most vulnerable in society. But we can’t do it without your support.

Many people are facing homelessness this Christmas, and they need your help.

We urge you to donate whatever you can: brnw.ch/21wYqY9

It was on a starry night when Hark the Herald angels sang — Go Tell It on the Mountain. The little Lord Jesus lay on a bed of straw, no crib for a bed. O come let us adore Him on this Silent Night, Holy Night, when all is calm, all is bright. 🎶✨

We need to talk about loneliness. People who are marginalised and socially excluded need to know they matter — to us, to their communities, and to God. Loneliness isn’t a weakness or a failure. To feel lonely is part of being human, and no one should have to face it alone.

During December, Salvation Army churches and centres find creative ways to bring light and love to their communities. One example is Hadleigh Farm Estate, which recently hosted its annual Christmas Market at the Hub Café, full of festive cheer and community spirit.

There’s still time to bring love and hope to children who might otherwise go without presents this Christmas. Since 2022, The Salvation Army has delivered over 206,000 gifts to families facing hardship — each a small expression of Jesus’ love reaching out today.

David* was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at two and, after a difficult childhood, was taken into care. He says he never truly felt free until he moved into a young person’s Lifehouse run by The Salvation Army, where he gained independence and finally felt confident in himself.

What a wonderful evening at our Royal Albert Hall Christmas carol concert! It was a chance to celebrate the everlasting love of God shown in Jesus. Thank you to Sylvestra Le Touzel and Owen Teale for reading from Matthew and Luke, brought to life by Nativity scenes from LAMDA students.

Loneliness is a growing public health and pastoral crisis, and this time of year can be especially hard. The Salvation Army offers Friendship Clubs, Chatty Cafés and worship services that provide community, connection and friendship. We’ve also launched our ‘No One Alone’ initiative.
