I always find it hilarious when "serious" articles about the future depict transparent phones/screens. Those are a Hollywood sci-fi trope, because opaque screens limit the angles of shots you can use. Actually using a transparent screen in the real world would be a horrible experience.

Specifically, a second-hand humiliation kink, which is a thing only empaths can even have.

This is not at all the point, but it's not difficult to find pictures of her from around that time, and I don't understand how anyone could even say she looked older than she was.

Several of my streaming accounts still have the name of my late wife on them, because she originally set them up, and I can't figure out how to change it.

(Okay, maybe it's just that I don't care enough to exert more than the bare minimum possible effort to figure out how to change it, but still.)

I revisited Sweet Charity this year because I'm making my way through the Best Picture & Best Foreign Film Oscar-winners, and Sweet Charity was based on a Fellini film, Nights of Cabiria, so I figured I should throw that in. Here's my capsule review from Letterboxd.

Some of the early stuff like Sweet Charity and Damn Yankees was surprisingly hard to find at the time, although I see both of those have had blu-ray re-releases since then.

It's also worth noting that Kiss Me, Kate contains some early work by Bob Fosse.

(My wife & I went down a Fosse rabbit hole a few years ago when that Fosse/Verdon series was on, and pretty much watched everything he ever did.)

What responsibilities, you dare say? Can you not see the tuxedo? No one who wears a tuxedo like that could be free of responsibilities.
That's what Mikhail tells me, anyway.

I believe we're meant to understand this is the first time this couple has made love since their daughter's tragic death, but no one ever says it out loud in dialogue. There's an interview on the Criterion disc with someone who confirms that, but it was clear to me even before watching those extras.

To the point that apparently there was a British TV airing that cut the scene, and they got complaint letters that the sex scene was *missing*.
