The end of volume 7 through all of volume 8 is kind of "We haven't dumped this much trauma since the end of volume 3 " levels of writing. Volume 9 is a real treat, though.

I wonder how much of this is a puritanical streak and how much is just the first generation to grow up with a distinction between "personal screens" and "shared screens" deciding that Horns stuff is for the private screen.

I remember being taught in my portfolio class that we had to apply design to make our resumes stand out, and now it's "IF this is anything more complex than a .txt file, the robots will have a panic attack."

There's been a revival of PS1/N64 artstyles in the indie space lately, but I think this "no textures, no normals" era look has potential as a deliberate style.

Of all the many flaws in our systems that have been exposed by this administration, "corporate consolidation of the press leads to silence, sanewashing and propaganda to protect their own financial interests when a free press is needed most" has been one of the most disheartening.
