I’m seeing a lot of media comments on the assertion in Jack Smith’s report on the J6 case that he believed the evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction against Trump. That’s not idle bragging. That’s DOJ legal standard for filing an indictment.

Joyce is right to be skeptical. Criminals find ways around inconvenient laws, and in Trump’s case, the Constitution. He violated the Emoluments Clause with no consequences. He’s getting away with violating criminal laws because of SCOTUS. But (continue to next)
The Constitution also says he requires the "advise & consent" of the Senate to approve his nominations.
President-elect Trump has mused more than once that he might like to extend his next stay at the White House. But can he run for re-election again in 2028 and seek a third term? The simple answer: No, the Constitution does not allow it.
