It's not meant to be that kind of love story, idiots.

It was always meant to be about Yoohan's self love first and love for others second (with Jay being Yoohan's biggest and most annoying facilitator for both).

trying to navigate his own mental and emotional state in general.

That he's actually acknowledging and accepting his own emotions, expressing his desires, and showing his vulnerabilities so openly to Jay when they're officially together IS Yoohan being romantic.

So shut up! 😡

Granted, Jay's motivations for doing so are a little fucked up and almost entirely for selfish reasons, but he still genuinely cares for Yoohan as a person.

Jay has always been "romantic" with Yoohan, that's why nothing seems different on his side.

Meanwhile Yoohan's still

Yoohan's biggest struggle during the whole story has always been about denial of emotions other than guilt while Jay's struggle has been - beyond getting into Yoohan's pants - about pushing Yoohan accept that he has a right to feel every emotion (good or bad) and to love himself.

"cool and/or aloof" would be a better descriptor methinks
