It was the honor of a lifetime to work for Jay Inslee. I’m so proud every day to be a part of pushing his climate legacy forward at @evergreenaction.bsky.social , but nothing tops my gratitude to him for what he has done for my daughter and her future.

So thank you, Gov.

And it would not be right to talk about Gov’s service without mentioning Trudi, who spent these 12 years serving the state and advocating for many of Gov’s accomplishments that will impact my daughter and other women in WA for decades to come.

Gov lead with joy, with optimism, with determination, with action, and with the belief that the future can and should be brighter than the present, and with an overwhelming amount of pride and joy for the people and the state of Washington.

He was in it for the right reasons, and it showed.

So much of that is due to his direct leadership, but also to the people he hired and the way he listened. Having worked for both his campaign and official teams, I was lucky enough to learn not just from him, but so many incredible people he hired, and who will carry his legacy forward.

It’s the paid family leave I’m using right now to care for her. It’s the massive investments in early childhood education, workers rights, abortion and reproductive freedom, gender equity, economic development, mental and physical healthcare, and yes, the best climate laws in America—plus much more.
