Editor at Brookline.News, a nonprofit news site covering the town of Brookline, MA.

Before this, I was a reporter covering transportation and energy policy in DC and Boston.
Actually dumbfounded at this column from former NYT editor Jill Abramson, who seems stuck in the view from nowhere, damaging focus on an unattainable "objectivity" that dominated journalism in the last century.

I will thread some of Lemon's quotes that she calls out while brushing over his arrest.

ICE tried to order Minneapolis PD off the scene of this morning's murder, but the chief refused and is calling in every available officer.

Valuable reporting from the Strib

Kash Patel and Dan Bongino going back and forth on a conference call about what to Tweet immediately after the Charlie Kirk assassination, as agents were scrambling to try to investigate, is just an absolute fever dream

Really astute observation, and the reasons it hasn't been covered widely are not exactly subtle (mainstream media capture by right wing interests who want to keep lying about how dangerous big cities are)

I've been covering this process closely for a year and a half and find it interesting to watch how the proposal has changed, from an original pitch that most in town agreed was way too big. Some neighbors still think the current height (buildings at 7, 12, and 14 stories) is too much.

A reddit comment played a significant role in leading investigators to the suspect in Providence and Brookline shootings.

New statement from Brookline police chief Paster:

"This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation. In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, we are limited in the information we can share at this time and ask for the community’s understanding and patience."

Gross framing from the NYT. I so badly have wanted to keep supporting the journalists there as the leadership and ed board flew rightward but this is just absolute politically-motivated garbage!

PS Here's a fun piece of information from the wikipedia page of her opponent, incumbent Bruce Harrell

I had to look, and yes Brookline is mentioned in the Epstein emails released this week. Harvard Professor (and Larry Summers wife) Elisa New, in making a pitch to Epstein for financial support for her PBS project Poetry in America, mentions interviews with "kids from Brookline High"

The concept that Mamdani's speech was "divisive" because he talked about using his power to achieve things and make change, especially in the face of a serial abuser opponent who basically built his entire campaign on gutter racism and threats, is so unfathomably stupid
