All those billionaires threatening to leave. Good. I might just move back to NYC. Zohran in his campaign made me miss the energy and life of the city.

He really should. Mamdani major. And Lander as a Senator. I would be so happy.

Thank you Mr. Lander for standing up for the city's immigrant community. You have so much heart. Thank you!

^ 2 - Plus all the East Coast Universities and research!

Everyone jokes around about this, because it will NEVER happen. But think through if it did. That's basically the most powerful country on earth. The whole economy of Cali (4th in world!). New York, world's finance. The oil from CAN with the ports of West Coast means Texas shut out. It'd be nice.

^ I think so too!

Why everyone freaked out so much over that single day spike in Tbill rate. Cause while it was higher in part then rate. Ppl were shock of such a quick spike, as that is NOT normal, unless there is trouble selling TBills. Ie the instrument where ppl buy US debt. We'll see next 6-12 if faith is back.

In the last 80 yrs it was hard to imagine a Greece scenario here. As basically everyone is in Tbills and dollar across the world. So everyone has something to lose, and keep system propped up. But at some point, no matter what country, if your interest payments are so high its hard to sustain.
April 26, 2025 at 8:09 PM
It's likely going to happen. That's not really crazy to think. But I think it could be for a diff reason. If more countries and their pensions, private equity slowly pull back from Tbills. Yields go up. Servicing the debt at some point cost billions more yearly. The whole system might fold.

And that's only cause his buddies are mad at him. And he needs that daily fix of rich dickheads' adulation.

He is at his core incapable of waking up. We all know at his core he only cares about himself. Ever. So what does unemployment mean to him. Imo, the only thing that would work (big maybe) is tbills collapsing. Then all his rich friends won't talk to him as they lost billions. He may care about them.

I mean how can anyone address the tech world without addressing how "politics" affects it? I just don't get the complaints. Yes, I also always looked to Verge's Pods as a break from politics. But in this chaos of changes to tech policy its unavoidable to address.

This was a really great conversation. Sometimes I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I think about the bond market and dollar market. And how are ppl not freaking out. Glad someone validated me in this interview :)

So I highly recommend ppl listen to the last 10 or so minutes when they talk about our universities. They are being dismantled. And she outlines how they are the anchor to a prosperous society. Seeing several universities lose funding, I fear for my city's future.
