1. We have plenty of hope. Try not to get dragged about by briefings too much. Understand we are in an information war with an opponent. That opponent is trying to set the agenda with timely briefings that make us give up.
But scratch beneath the surface and GenAI is very unpopular in the arts.

I think with any 'rule' you want to examine the reason it exists, then make an individual judgement on if that applies to you in each specific case. Not follow blindly.

Show not tell is the most annoying advice. On our MA we were shouted at pretty sternly if we mentioned it. It comes from screenwriting, where subtext is essential. But it sacrifices part of the uniqueness of written narrative.
Really, you want a balance of show, tell, and introspect.
