I laugh every time I fight those two, because the same voice actor voices Dionysus (surfer god), Ares (hot god)... and Theseus (loudmouth).

Take out Theseus first -- he's the one that calls on the gods for backup, and their effects END when he bites it. This way you're not outrunning god call effects while trying to fight Asterius.
