I think this maybe the only superhero book (comics are not included) and I got some feelings, good and bad. Good being more than happy to support Trans rights. Bad would that this book gave me characters I hate for being so transphobic that I feel the need to punch them.

This was a treat with a theme about the sexism of society. I would say ancient china, but there's what we have nowadays. Well, I already have the next book, I'll be keeping an eye out for the third book.

I could have enjoyed this more if it went for a different route with the romance and a certain plot needed some extra work. Still I wouldn't mind another book with the Hex Girls.

I've been trying to read some banned books this year and I sadly have to put this on the lower ranks because there were some things that didn't age well. Yet it intrigued me to get curious about about what happens with the sequel and the unmade books.

During a recent death in the family, I was trying to read more lighthearted stuff to cheer myself up. But I didn't move this book's position on my TBR pile and despite at least one writing error, it was what really cheered me up during a sad time.
