and yes i did do a cross-section: it's not just superficial - she's different on the inside too. So Quirky!

It's a lie that trans people's visibility is new--we've been the focus of fascination, humiliation, and demonization for the entire history of mass media. What social media changes is who was writing the story and whose voices were heard. It's not our existence they abhor; it's our dignity.
