I’ve read Our Wives Under The Sea, but that is the only one so far! I’m thinking of a King Lear reread and then settling in with Private Rites end of January

thanks for sharing your fav book list! I just looked up all the ones I didn’t know & I’m particularly excited for Julia Armfield’s book & very intrigued by the Megan Abbott mystery. Hope you made it through Monday—felt weird to me to do normal Monday things in this unnormal heavy world pressing down

I love this list. The Streisand book is so fun right? Did you listen to the audiobook at all? They cut in snippets of her songs and she periodically starts doing commentary on what she’s reading

Have I missed your favorite list? I’d love to see what books you enjoyed. The Bog Wife is still on my want to read list based on your recommendation. Even more so now when I read and enjoyed The Listeners, which also has Appalachian roots

!!! I’d say that maybe the other book on this list that is Emily coded is Land of Milk and Honey. It’s weird with gorgeous writing…about a woman quietly making her way through an apocalypse & explores hedonism, class/race, who gets access to resources & what you’re willing to do when offered access

There’s nonfiction, a journal, speculative fiction, a little genre fiction, & for the first time ever a children’s book. 2 Australian authors. 3 books set in the future. 3 books set in the past. All of these books were bright spots as I think back on my year.

The collage of all the poster art for your list looks so good together!

The House By The Sea volume of her journals was one of my favorite books I read this year!
