Alison Stone, the author of Women Philosophers in Nineteenth-Century Britain has set up a website about the 19th century philosopher Julia Wedgwood -  It contains lots of her writings on topics including free will and determinism, Darwinism, Christianity, utilitarianism, ethical theory more generally, ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, and many other things. Julia Wedgwood (1833-1913) was a major intellectual force of the Victorian period.

Workshop “Cartesian Feminism and Women Cartesians” Human Abilities Center, Berlin (Schönhauser Allee 10-11, 10119 Berlin, Germany) October 11th – 12th, 2025 Organizers: Luce deLire, Pedro Pricladnitzky, Ariane Schneck This workshop aims at discussing thinkers who have argued (proto-)feministically based on Descartes, as well as women philosophers who have dealt with other aspects of Descartes' philosophy. The objective is to bring their engagement with Descartes - and Cartesianism more broadly defined - up for discussion and in so doing also show new ways of integrating these thinkers and topics into the so-called “canon.”
