Look at the coastal front boundary set up right along 128! 23 on the Newton/Needham border, 11 in downtown Needham. Of course, snowing very hard on both sides.

Newest operational loco: a rare C&NW/Omaha Road Erie-built. The prototypes were retired within a decade or so. It's a Life-Like model; I got lucky enough to track down one with a hard wired decoder on eBay and swapped shells.

Interurban remains: the line linking the Shore Line Electric (CT) and United Railways (RI) systems left a couple of causeways across a reservoir in Killingly, CT. www.google.com/maps/@41.843...

Finally tracked down a Bachmann 70-tonner in the livery used by the Salzberg shortlines. Runs ok but a little loud. The plan is for this to eventually get custom decals for the Fort Dodge, Des Moines, & Southern, a former interurban eventually merged into C&NW.

Apropos of the earlier conversation about the unpleasantness of the potential 125th St subway-elevated transfer, the elevated station does need an enclosure...how about taking inspiration from Chicago? You can call it 125th-Manhattanville-Columbia ;-)

Another solid indicator of a past interurban: a power line that's been running next to a road suddenly marching off on a straighter alignment across some fields. Near Palmyra, IL the ROW of the Sterling, Dixon, & Eastern (1904-1925) is still very apparent.
