As both Nicole and I previously acknowledged. My point was simply that Parker was not the “only one singled out”. Ellis (and only Ellis) had already been chastised by the VM. This is not my defense of either of them.

To be fair, CM Ellis was chastised by the VM for her cursing, which occurred after CM Parker cursed at her. Had it not been for the minority caucus, only Ellis would have been chastised, despite Parker’s vulgar and aggressive behavior. Yes, Ellis was out of order first. Parker escalated.

It’s literally how school desegregation was carried out in the Southern cities like Nashville. Enforced minority status for Black students in every single school. What could possibly go wrong?

Far too many politicians who position themselves as progressives are too cozy with the civic boosters/downtown money machine. Same as it ever was. Same mentality that brought us Urban Renewal aka “negro removal”.

Nope. It’s darker than that. By picking off board members and replacing with toadies, he hopes to do indirectly what he can’t do directly: force Powell out so he can manipulate interest rates.
