I think my point is we need someone who will run against AI to push the conversation towards how we regulate it without killing it tbh

No — I think you can probably persuade more than enough voters through a straight focus on the economy. You don't need to move right, you just gotta talk about the issues where your positions will attract crossover.

Mamdani won a bunch of Trump voters, he didn't need them. We do need them in TX.

I'd emphasize the "just" at the start of my sentence. Turning out Dem voters is key, but that alone won't cut it.

We also need to lower GOP turnout, and bring *some* GOP voters on board.

I don't disagree on Schumer's picks not being the best, to be fair.

No one is saying we chase Republican voters, I'm saying that it is unrealistic to think we can win a Republican state with *no* Republican voters.

Those are two very different statements, and convey very different strategies.

You're restating what I said in my original post. The path to win Texas requires:
- High Dem turnout
- Low GOP turnout
- Some persuasion of Trump voters

I'm honestly still unsure as to what you're disagreeing with?

NYC is not Texas. You can't just package Zohran up and take him to a Trump+14 state and expect similar results.

Did we not learn anything from 2024? High turnout now benefits Republicans. Low-frequency voters lean Republican.

This is a really risky bet if we’re serious about flipping the seat, which I am.

Just mathematically speaking, you can’t win a state like Texas without necessarily convincing at least some Trump voters to vote for you, while making sure your turnout is high and your opponent’s is low.

Party labels are just shorthand for voter groups.

We're on it.
