I did not know until just now that our snow plows had names. I'm delighted.

I can handle the cold. It's when it's cycling between freeze and melt that I don't like the weather.

Anyway, our car decided it didn't want to stay in the driveway today.

I have gone through so much butter in the last 2 days

This is what I get for buying store brand butter.

Interesting to note the weights of the turkeys from this more than 50 years old cookbook. The smallest turkey I could find in the store was just under 15 pounds. And believe me I looked for a smaller turkey.

The time has come to consult the sacred text.

I cook turkey once a year and Betty has never let me down.

I should probably figure out how to get this book rebound before it falls apart. The cardboard from the spine is completely gone.

Christmas Salad is Lime Jello, Cottage Cheese, Crushed Pineapple and Cool Whip. And then topped with maraschino cherries. It's very... Festive.

Oh yeah those sure do look like totally legit messages from USPS 🙄

I did not expect anyone to recognize these characters at the con, but we did find one person. I was mistaken for a MLP and Officer Jenny multiple times. Fun day cosplaying with a friend.

I had three weeks to sew this button on. So of course I'm doing it day of.

Having fun with my sister.

New game: Guess my sister's name based on how the cafe tried to spell it.

Considering I had two sheets and some scrap fabric 2 days ago I think I've done an alright job.

My grandma's Kenmore sewing machine. She bought her new in the early 70s. She was a very fancy machine back in the day. I'm more used to Singer machines so I hope I can thread her right.

Oh, their moms came to pick them up. The chicken are running a backyard daycare for deer.

Fun game to play at mom's house: Find the duplicate books.

I will be sewing this project on my grandmother's vintage Kenmore sewing machine. The cabinet it is in is currently living its best life as my sister's computer desk.

My mom doesn't have any fabric marking pens, but soap works. Make do with what you have.

Today's vacation sewing adventure: Mom's scissor collection. Luckily she uses right handed scissors despite being left handed. Some of these scissors are antique. And they work, but the winner was a modern pair of Fiskars. Which is also the brand of scissors I use at home.

I'm at my mom's and while I sent my sister everything she needed to make her costume, I am going to have to do it myself. So I asked my mom for her sewing tools. I'm just not going to ask her how old her tape measure is. 😥 I should probably tell her they stretch out of shape.

My mom's cat has quite a resting death glare.

My mom keeps chickens. Some of them seem a bit odd though.

Most important thing to pack: travel buddies.

I feel like cosplay might make me seem far weirder than I already am. Anyway it's close enough to Halloween. I'm sure the TSA won't question all the chains in my bag. Right? Right?

My other costume for Geek Girl Con is almost done.
