sorry, this was very american-centric with the implication that most tumblr users are americans, but i didn't mean for it to be. i think i would've had a different opinion on this a year back.

i want more from people than just a fundraiser, basically. i'm fatigued by the constant reminder that we're all crabs in decaying buckets and i want there to be an actual shift in society.

i had the same feeling years back when americans started relying on gofundme, too.

and i hate the glimmer of hope we've fostered on tumblr dot com of financial assistance from the Rich Americans who can surely save someone's entire family, but we hardly save each other. we're all so miserably poor. the guilt tripping and appeal to emotion on some posts is sickening.

my relationship with tumblr donation posts is complicated. i think it's in how jaded i am.

i don't like some international reposts because they don't have updated information on the current state of the families and the fundraisers.
