A little over a week ago, my grandmother passed unexpectedly. This week, I’ve been doing small things to honor her memory. I got flowers in her favorite color. I made baked goods to share with the people I love. I bought some cheesy romance novels because they were her favorite thing to read.

My class this semester is in the public policy building, and I keep getting jumpscared by a cardboard cutout of Ronald Reagan that's in one of the offices

As someone whose research centers heavily around fandom and fan culture, I'm really going to miss TikTok if it goes. It fosters fan communities in a way that no other platform does. Also, it's got some killer memes.
