The iGCSE that only private schools can do is also a scam. 30% coursework for some GCSEs. State schools have to do 100% exams. This is highly unfair.
NOVEMBER 2024: Therese Coffey, asked if private schools - whose pupils get extra exam time at almost three times the rate of state schools - are gaming the system, replies: "You don't ask, you don't get".

Having a problem with my heart. Phone the GPS, 20th in line. Talk to Dr, come in to see Dr. Bloods then off for Urgent Xray at the hospital. I get seen straight away. All very smooth, immediate and thorough. Thank god for the NHS ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today on The Rest Is History we explore the origins, development & consequences of one of the profoundest changes in all history: the emergence of humanity as an urban species.

But just how did THE WORLD'S FIRST CITY serve to transform human nature?

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

Hello Bluesky. I’m now retired after teaching English for 30 years. I’ve spent my time travelling around Europe, reading more and investigating family history. Here is a photo of my grandmother as a 3 year old on my great grandmother’s lap. Can you see the twins?
