And all the people living in some of the worst man-made destruction I have seen. Where half collapsed houses stand in the middle of rubble and dust. What remains are people. They still live here because they do not have the means to leave or rebuild.

And Zahra and her children living in a tent. The children are searching for any type of trash that they can burn to keep warm: Plastic bags and bottles. Old shoes. Inhaling the toxic black smoke every night.

Or twins Ahmed & Mustafa whose mother Batoul rushed to find a place to deliver her babies safely & only found closed doors due to fund cuts. Who arrived at the CARE funded #hospital at 9 a.m. after 3h of searching. 15 min later the twins were born inside instead of on the streets

Ihre Fenster wurden bei einer Explosion beschädigt und für 3 Monate lebte sie mit dem Schaden bis CAREs Partnerorganisation diese im Juli ausgetauscht hat.

Die nicht aufgeben und weiter Hilfe leisten, egal wie sehr es um sie herum eskaliert. Die selbst Trauma erlebt haben und weiter erleben. Und die trotzdem einen Raum schaffen für die Teilnehmer:innen, an dem man kurz den #Krieg vergessen kann.
