Today marks 2 years since the October 7th attacks. We remember those who lost their lives, and those who still remain in captivity. Our thoughts are with the hostages and their families, and we hope for peace and their safe return.

As a dog lover, I was thrilled to speak with Guide Dogs at Labour Party Conference about the vital role they play in supporting people with sight loss. 🐶

Here in Tamworth, their staff and volunteers do brilliant work raising awareness, fundraising and supporting those who rely on guide dogs.

As a Humanist, I’m proud to back Humanists UK’s campaign to legalise humanist weddings in England & Wales. Everyone should have the right to a ceremony that reflects their values. I recently hosted a Parliamentary debate calling for change, and the Government has now committed to making it happen

In June, I secured a debate on this very issue, alongside my colleagues Lizzi Collinge MP and Freddie van Mierlo MP, and I’m pleased that following that debate the law is changing.

Earlier this year I met Palestinian Ambassador Husam Zomlot to discuss peace and recognition. I welcome the recognition of Palestine - an important step towards justice and a two-state solution, where both Palestinians and Israelis can live in security and equality.

I was honoured to attend the service at St Editha’s Church in Tamworth, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. We stood in remembrance of the brave pilots, aircrew, and all who served. Many thanks to the Royal Air Force Association for organising this important commemoration.

85 years on, we remember the pilots and aircrew of the Battle of Britain, and the whole nation that stood with them. Their courage helped defend our country at a pivotal moment in our history.

A service will take place today in Tamworth to honour the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

This week I spoke up for Tamworth families in the SEND Petition Debate. Too many children with special needs are being failed due to limited places in specialist schools.

I’ll keep working with Staffordshire CC and the Government to expand provision so every child can reach their potential.

I am pleased to see the Hillsborough Law introduced in Parliament this week. This is an important step towards truth and accountability.

It stands as a tribute to the 97 who lost their lives, and to the families whose courage has shaped change for generations.
