short version: it’s my author pen name

long version: I was going by the initials “CM” on a message board for writers, because it stood for “Chicken Mafia.” People knew me as CM and then suddenly I needed a real name for human interaction purposes.

It is theft and the artists whose hard work is reduced to material for an algorithm to spit out lose a lot. I know people who have been affected by this.

It’s not a dislike of a new technology, it’s a dislike of a technology that is damaging creative industries as well as affecting the environment.

Except that CGI still requires effort, creativity, and skill from humans to make it work. Yeah, budget and practicality are factors, but people have been solving those problems for years just fine without using AI.

Art needs people who care about it. But I guess you don’t, so good luck with that.

There is a big difference between artistic influence and what AI does. And you talk about art stalling, but that's exactly what AI will lead to; just a copy of a copy of a copy made for the sake of making it.

Who says it can’t be both? Yes, necessity can drive it but if you didn’t have the desire to create something you wouldn’t be doing it.

Also, how can you make the best project you can if you use a quick fix that is trained on stolen work? That’s not “doing what it takes” it’s laziness.
