Communication is so often remarked upon as vital to healthcare. Yet so little research on communication is funded and so little time allowed for its effective integration in curricula. What is said about its importance is not backed up by investment.

Sometime I wonder if I should stop putting career disruption in my ROPE etc for grants. I reckon my CV is pretty alright even if I don’t mention having been part-time and taken parental leave and I always wonder if it leads to other bias.

Had a specialist appointment and was asked to describe pain, with some descriptors offered and let me tell you that doing research on pain descriptors in medical care has made absolutely overthink what these words mean.
