I am a physician, a patient, an advocate for a healthcare system that hears and heals, a sometimes-poet and writer, a beginner in contemplative practice, and a forever fan of gentle and earnest and hopeful and bright-eyed people everywhere.

A brief introductory post as I dip my toe into the Substack waters! And, of course, a poem.

Yay for first, brave steps!
On these little days, I imagine myself big.
As it so often does, for me, it all started with loss.

Day 1/1459:

A full night's rest
A glass of water
A morning walk at sunrise
A breakfast from the earth and sun
A grounding meditation
A letting go of what weighs me down (overwhelm, despair, fear, shock, disgust) so I can take up the tasks I'm here to do from a place of lightness and strength.
