“World is crazier and more of it than we think…”

Heck and heavens.
These days, inevitably, more heck.
The internet, and social media in particular, has made words true weapons - giving ‘hearsay’ the currency of truth in a way that makes any corroboration, or hard fact/expert witness contradiction, entirely superfluous. While euphemism/the veil is the public Trojan horse that lets the real damage in.

The truth is he’s scoured every BBC listing since 1972 and failed to find a single sitcom or entertainment that made jokes about the Holocaust. That’s the real story for

He’s very keen to describe trial by jury as a “freedom” (multiple times just now on #bbcpm) which I’m sure is exactly what it feels like for backlog prisoners currently locked up - sometimes for years, ‘innocent until proved guilty’ - on remand.

A failure to understand the fundamentals of anything for which you will have ultimate responsibility has apparently become a compulsory qualification for all Ministerial roles in government.
I’m now struggling to find an exception.

It may or may not be relevant, but Stoppard himself did not have a university education…
