Ah this is interesting devo news. London will get an integrated settlement after all from next year.

It'll be interesting to see how the model differs in London compared to the combined authorities, and whether it'll require constitutional change in the GLA-Council relationship to make it work

Rachel Reeves has announced a 'growth mission fund' and a tranche of grants for parks, swimming pools, libraries and help for councils with graffiti and fly tipping. Sounds a lot like the 'levelling up' funding - we'll take a look at the details when we get them.

Paul Bristow was the winner of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough mayoral election with 28.4% of the vote. He represents the Conservative Party and was previously the MP for Peterborough from 2019 to 2024

Dame Andrea Jenkyns was elected as the first mayor of Greater Lincolnshire with 42.0% of the vote. Jenkyns represents the Reform UK party and was previously a Conservative MP from 2015–24.
