I had a middle school social studies teacher who insisted the Civil War was about states’ rights. He wrote his test so that if we disagreed, we’d get answers wrong.

Side note - same teacher told us in class that he was counting down the days until Britney Spears’ 18th birthday.

I told a student to put his phone away & finish his work. He was so sad & missed his phone so much that he drew an homage to it on his desk.

Spent so much of my youth scared to openly support a free Palestine. Scared because I thought I didn’t fully understand the struggle, or history, or I feared being perceived as anti-Semitic. So proud of younger generations for bravely standing up to what has obviously always been an apartheid state.
