my mp3 drive on my desktop is… big. i think 1.5TB.

and i wasn’t downloading the albums i was buying physical copies of. so nothing on that drive is newer than maybe 5 years old.

hmm. well. i do have to do a small grocery run tomorrow.

and i typically do that at meijer… maybe i’ll have to look for that.

i love it over there. at least as a tourist.
(going back in about three weeks. for the first time since 2019)

is it perfect? of course not. but nowhere is.
i know a bit of japanese. but very little.
i should study it more.

i have expat friends who plan to stay there forever.

while i haven’t lived in another country, i have travelled a lot. (mostly domestically, but also international) and…. i love travel. and i love history and culture. the time i’ve spent in japan i absolutely loved.

she’s a workaholic too (she’s taking classes essentially full time AND running a business. which … is just me and her)

and her BF works ridiculous hours too (on a digital nomad visa, so his job is mainly the US. but he’s living there)

my boss is …. currently living in japan and taking intense japanese classes while she’s there. 5 hour school days 4 days a week (i think? might be five)
and she loves it. she and her bf moved there together. not in a major city. (an hour train ride from tokyo)

why not do it?

i told @imsarahnow.bsky.social yesterday i’d want to walk between the parking garage and con center and con hotel outside if i’d been suiting.

i had a skirt and sweatshirt on. and tail. and in the dealers den it was so hot i had to ditch the hoodie.

which was the hottest dealers den i’ve ever been in at a fur con. it was weird.

i’d considered it. that was kind of the gold standard of higher capacity. i had one. i’m sure it’s long gone now and not hiding in a drawer or box somewhere.

which was SO hot this year. i always forget how hot it gets in that skybridge.

i will NEVER understand people’s “need” to vape inside. especially when other people are around/sharing space, etc.

if you own your house and live alone, then fine, i guess.

roommates? don’t own the house? don’t do it. damn.
public indoor spaces? same thing. don’t.

i’ve “made” more from bandcamp sales than multiple bands and releases on streaming for 5+ years.

my ex wife helped me get an endo a while after we got divorced. and we worked together for a while.
i can’t complain about them either.
they’re a good person. we just were a terrible couple. we make better friends than lovers.
