Proud to represent San Diego and a new generation of leaders in Congress.
Pam Bondi doesn’t give a fuck about the Epstein survivors. She couldn’t even look at them.

It was great to meet with some interns and volunteers from the San Diego Chapter of UNA-USA to discuss global issues, including fighting the climate crisis and ending the atrocities and humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

Trump canceled the grant that helped fund Loma Elementary’s Parent Empowerment Program, which offers support and coaching for parents with kids struggling with behavioral challenges at school. I’m so glad I could see their invaluable work, and I will work to restore this funding.

Travel and tourism support thousands of local workers and families. So I was glad to join a roundtable with business leaders and officials from the U.S. Travel Association and San Diego Tourism Authority about the challenges they’re facing, from infrastructure to visa issues.

Urban Street Angels provides housing and support for youth experiencing homelessness in San Diego. I visited their La Mesa office again to see their incredible work on the ground.

Over the past year, Head Start programs like Neighborhood House Association in San Diego have faced a barrage of threats and attacks on funding from the Trump Administration. I won’t stop fighting to protect access to affordable early education and child care.

Fraud in the care economy is nowhere near the epidemic levels that some conspiracy theorists suggest. That’s why I was glad to visit ARCC Center Foundation, which connects kids with developmental disabilities to respite workers, to hear about their work and auditing requirements.

I visited Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish’s Pope Francis Center, which offers legal aid, spiritual guidance, and mental health services for immigrants and families. As a proud immigrant and border community, we will continue to stand against violence from ICE and Border Patrol.

Everyone should have access to accurate information about abortion and reproductive care so they can make informed decisions. That’s why I was glad to join the discussion after TuYo Theatre’s production of “Everything You Need to Know About Abortion in One Hour or Less.”

In the 70s, the DOJ sued Donald Trump for housing discrimination when his properties consistently rented to white applicants but turned away people of color who applied.

So no, I’m not shocked that Donald Trump still wants to make housing more inaccessible and only for the rich.

In Trump’s first year, California families spent $2,300 more on average due to inflation (@jecdems.bsky.social)

Trump promised to “end inflation” but instead, prices have gone up, his tariffs have made things even worse, and he doesn’t seem to care at all ⬇️

Guess who’s the newest member of Democratic House Leadership? 🙋‍♀️

As Millennials, we've seen the consequences of regime change in Iraq and Libya – that's why I'm working to prevent a repeat of that in Venezuela by constraining Donald Trump's powers and spending.

I just introduced the Bipartisan IVF for Military Families Act with Reps. Nick LaLota, Jen Kiggans, and Chrissy Houlahan as a new, standalone, *bipartisan* bill to expand TRICARE coverage of IVF for service members and their dependents. We won’t stop fighting for this!
December 17, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Speaker Johnson just stole the opportunity for our service members to build their families through IVF. I know this is devastating news but I will never stop fighting to expand IVF.

I led a Congressional oversight visit at the USCIS San Diego Field Office to learn more about questionable arrests made by ICE during routine immigration interviews and found their responses wholly insufficient.

We need more answers and more accountability. This has to stop.

Republicans in Congress have repeatedly gutted programs that fight hunger.

I’m grateful that organizations like Produce for Good, which operates in food recovery and assistance, are stepping up in our community – but we need Congress to restore federal funding for food programs like SNAP.

Will the FBI investigate President Trump's call for the deaths of sitting Democratic lawmakers?

Donald Trump just signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law — but what happens next?

I was glad to join American Legion Post 303 to recognize Veterans Day and pay tribute to everyone who has worn our country’s uniform and the families who have stood beside them. It was also my honor to recognize Fred Green, El Cajon American Legion’s Veteran of the Year!

It was my honor to recognize these Vietnam veterans in my district and present them with a Vietnam War Commemoration Pin as a small token of our gratitude. It represents a promise that we won’t forget their service and their sacrifice for our country.

The House just passed a funding bill that does NOTHING to stop 15 million Americans from being kicked off their health care or protect our democracy. But it DOES let Senators involved in the January 6th investigation SUE the government for $500,000 each.

In case it wasn’t clear, I voted NO.
