Time
Time expands
when not pushed.
Stretches synchronously
with our need to
not use it.
No longer divided into
hours or minutes
chores or lists
we can let it breathe
rather than tether it to our agenda.
Maybe time is not there
to be used
just as life is not there
to be achieved.
Both need to be lived
thoroughly
and followed into
every corner and crevice
every spiralling in and out
every ascent and descent.
This is the true meaning of
‘to be alive’ -
to be with time.
To let time live you so deeply
that we may one day
however briefly
sense what lives time.

My take on the superpower thing from 3 1/2 years ago. I stammered since I was a child and worked to live with it well for the last 3 decades. sometimes whole sentences too;
I'm so good at it words form a queue.

Just be aware, things aren't always as they appear.

Mine is I help people grow.
By meeting what is different to ourselves
we grow beyond what we already know.

When a musician plays music they must experience it in their whole body. The dance, too, must be experienced by the dancer in a different way than those watching. I wonder if that is true of all artists?

My neighbour gardens
like they are at war.
The power tools their artillery
the weedkiller their chemical agent.
Nature must be subdued
all wildness controlled.
I want the Earth to shout
what I can't
to fight back.
But it keeps the peace
like I.
It can only quietly
resist
by killing their brambles.
I can only hope
my organic words
take root
instead.

Today was warm enough for a wee practice outside! This is the beginning of my song "We Cry", which I wrote 2-3 years ago. I saw the consultant this week and my vocal cords work fine and he's sure my range will return with gentle practice. So all good. #singersongwriter #originalsong #vocalrecovery
