This is different in that in the World Cup they just play the instrumentals. No hired singers at all. It's up to the crowd to sing it and it's very telling that during World Cups, Americans don't sing their own anthem

The closest thing was maybe China's belt and road initiative. But instead of giving aid freely, they place countries under heavy debt so they can appropriate their ports in exchange for building a couple of soccer stadiums

THe only part that annoys me is that old Texas maps are already gerrymandered so even if the new TX maps are rejected, the CA maps are still justified
