We really need more multi-unit housing units, especially in urban and metro centers. I live around Raleigh, NC and single family units keeps going up near NC State, when they really need something to accommodate more people.

It is. And there's this entire analogous angle of sports being to war what porn is to sex. There's also insane amounts of money tied in state and municipal budgets to facilitate and assuage pro sports teams. It's obscene.

I'm completely of the opinion that people are into a lot of sports watching because they grew up with it being reinforced by positive emotional connections, and they also know the narratives.

If it wasn't for the grant system in public education those universities would fold. Grants literally hire entire staffs. I'm all for better science and practice, but I don't think leading with "we've been doing it wrong" is a winning strategy.
