Not entirely sure passing this bill won't embolden slumlords to simply issue 30 day vacate notices to families who'd realistically need more than 30 days notice to complete a move without jeopardizing family health and financial ruin. But I'm hopeful this will be a protection moving forward.
This is an excellent op-ed from "mom and pop landlords" who support WA's proposed rent stabilization law, and who also support building more housing. #waleg needs to pass and @governorferguson.bsky.social needs to sign HB 1217.
