I think people with that attitude consider it failed because Literally Everybody didn't migrate here, but like.... that never happens when platform migrations happen. It's just inevitable that some people don't come along for whatever reason, or maybe even never considered leaving in the first place

But uhhh... People DID migrate to bluesky. In multiple waves even! It has a smaller userbase than it's competition, noone can deny that. But it's clearly crossed whatever critical mass is needed to have its own self-sustaining userbase, and it crossed it quite awhile ago.

I have communities discussing migration to both and tbh it all seems in a bit of a state of flux right now seeing how things will actually play out. I hope Stoat actually adds streaming soon, that is absolutely going to be a dealbreaker for some folks looking into it right now.
