Here we go again.
J. & I spent 2 hours protesting on a pedestrian bridge that overlooks 10 lanes of traffic. Observations:
- 95% of people honked and waved and flashed their lights in solidarity
- 99% of white men driving giant pickups flipped us off (sometimes letting go of the wheel to do so)

One man tracking people being deported & deportation flights at the Minneapolis airport.
One person creating a record for future inquiries & potential prosecutions.

The absolute surrealism of crying during Constitutional Observer training after the facilitator broke down when telling us another person was killed by ICE, all while police sirens wailed in the distance. I cannot express how deeply fucked up this is.

My work is now locked 24 hours a day. Parents stand guard at the high school with whistles around their necks. Every vehicle crawling down the block is suspicious.

My city has been labeled "bad" for decades but the only time I've ever felt unsafe in the 20 years I've lived here is because of ICE.

Can't wait for a future interviewer to ask about my multitasking skills so I can tell them how I had to remain professional and chipper working 10+ hours a day answering 150+ emails and attending hours of "camera-always-on" Teams meetings while my city was being invaded by the federal government.

Just bought whistles.

Whistles. On a chain.

To wear around our necks when we leave the house.

Just in case we need to warn neighbors that horrible people intent on doing horrible things are in the vicinity.

Our nephew sent J. and I a lovely holiday package filled with our favorite baked goods: chocolate chip cookies and scotcheroos. Unfortunately, they were apparently so delicious a squirrel broke into the box and chewed holes in every single bag. 😭

J. is turning the thermostat UP and I'm surreptitiously trailing him to turn it DOWN DOWN DOWN because I apparently run 10 degrees warmer than I used to (and 20 degrees warmer than my furnace of a husband).

I just spent a disgusting 90 min. fixing our clogged bathroom sink with a drum auger and after fighting to get it around the pipe bend, discovered the cable rusted out and wouldn't retract, which meant I pulled 10 feet of black, smelly, gunked-up cable out by hand. But I did it - the drain is clear!

Woke myself up screaming, "GET OFF ME!" after I dreamed a man was aggressively groping me and in that half-second of not-awake-to-awake, I literally felt the pressure of hands still on me. (J. was already at work.) 😳
