This is a FANTASTIC time to revive Goatse.

Where I attached the waist to the waistband, there was
1: basting stitch for gathering
2: straight stitch to affix the front of the waistband to the skirt
3: stitch in the ditch to close the seams into the waistband in the back
4: and for some reason I serged it? 🤷‍♀️

Luckily it was a straight gathered skirt, so I think I have enough to make the 4-panel version. I've been losing weight and in a sewing funk, cuz why sew something that won't fit in 4 months? I'm hoping this spilt skirt design will reignite my creativity 💪

I'm so sad to lose the convenience of a place open after my 8-5 and weekends. But a part of me is excited to explore local and small business shops.

I'm making two more, so for these I'm going to work the whole garment with the zipper opening basted shut until I put the zipper in 🤞 I'm also gonna use the lining selvage at the zipper since those should be straight 🤞🤞🤞 I'll find out tonight if I did it right lol

It's a cheap quilting cotton fabric we intend on wearing over leggings. And that fabric tends to bunch up when you walk. So I added a lining. And I freehanded the cut on the lining for the zipper. My theory is that cut was crooked and I lined up the outer fabric with the crooked cut

I have theories on how I managed to fuck up this badly.
