For the sake of CA's, if they cook up a 40k Total War, it better be really good. Like Shogun 2, Warhammer 3 levels of good. Geniuenly perfect in every way

In 40k we know exactly how or why. The Emperor feeds on these 1k souls to fuel the Astronomicon and block a wave of demons. This allows interstellar travel and comms, and prevents a massive onslaught of demons. There is no doubt that if you stopped feeding the emperor, humanity would be doomed.

The thing about Omelas is that no specific rationale is provided for WHY the child has to suffer, why it has to be this way. In 40k, we know EXACTLY why it needs to be this way. The Emperor is enabling travel and communication, and holding back waves of demons.

Truth is, the emperor fueling the Astronomicon and holding back demons is just... the basis of human society. Both on a technical level and on a cultural level. I don't really see it as a sacrifice for the greater good. It's the thing that needs to be done to survive.

I'd argue it's not really a trolley PROBLEM when your options are 1000 psykers daily and the collapse of human society. It's not a dilemma when there's a obviously correct solution

Valid arguments aside (and surprisingly, they occasionally produce one), some of their logic is definitely based on just pure hate. And truth is, there's no point trying to understand it, because hate is NOT logical. That's my take, at lleast.

I dunno. In a competitive car, he can still get podiums. If RB didn't have a rocketship this year, he'd probably fighting for wins early in the season, before they just... stopped developing the car.

Either VCARB or Haas. Tbh I imagine Gene Haas putting up less of a fight than RB management, at this point. RB needs racing bAlls as 2 extra driver slots, and Gene needs his team to start winning. Which... won't happen.
