Met curator Charles K. Wilkinson was close to Elias S. David.

Correspondence between Wilkinson and others at the Met document some of David's activities as a dealer, and show that he was honoured as a Fellow of the Museum for life, a privilege extended to his wife after he died in 1969.

Update: The looted Goudstikker painting will be stored at the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires for now. Patricia Kadgien and her husband appeared in court, where their passports were confiscated and they were formally charged with possessing and concealing ‘stolen art in the context of genocide.’

Then there is the painting by Rachel Ruysch in the National Museum of Decorative Arts, Buenos Aires that looks a lot like the Abraham Mignon still life being searched for as a World War II era loss by the Dutch Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed which was bought by Kadgien.

But this is not the only development in the can you spot a looted World War II era painting game. Two more portraits have been seized from a house in the La Florida neighbourhood connected to the Kadgien family.

Respectfully, unless you’ve spoken with Avv. D’Ascia regarding Italy’s timeline in their pursuit of recognition and enforcement of the Italian forfeiture judgment it seems premature to speculate on the validity of Italy's claim overlooking the complexity of international enforcement in the US.
