I don't think I can trust myself to wear admirable qualities. The people I looked up to did and they turned ignorantly cruel.

So, I've elected myself to listen to what people suffer for. Weigh that against my current values and feel for what is right. Its not foolproof but its been working for me.

I've had to unlearn so many lies and it has done me good to learn what I feel about them in as a human rather than a logical operative.

I've been reasoned to pardon cruelty my entire life. I do not want to continue.

Yeah, I avoided politics a lot before because people say it isn't worth my time. But, it really affects everyone's lives. If we want to have a better world, we need to be politically conscious.

I am sorry for what happened to you. I hope your brothers made it back good.

I've been like this before all these fascists were so open.

There's a lot of people I know who would put their head down because their livelihoods depend on being quiet to survive. It's a sad but people have been disarmed to oppose evil.

My friends wonder why I'm so fiercely political.

I grew up admiring many people I now realize are terrible. There is this uncomfortable putridity that I was built by faulty material.

So, I've been trying really hard to become someone completely opposed to what was laid before me.

I could chalk it up to the fear of offending a culture. I know a lot people say to include a represented voice in your work.. But it's pretty hard to get one that has the time and dedication to work alongside you esp if you can't compensate enough.

Or this could be indifference.

Personally, I think its important to even get uninformed views so I can determine common misconceptions.

I feel I've done good homework on history but even then I can see a lacking in proper record. The only place of reliability is asking what people feel today.

I meant to defer 3 as a default side effect if read straight. But selfishness on this particular point is very visible to anyone.

Yeah, I believe all portrayal of struggle cannot obsess on the misery of it all or you risk separating a culture from its humanity.

I hope nobody gets offended by my asking of this. I was genuinely curious.

My culture's representation in the general zeitgeist is pretty small and we're happy to see any representation regardless of quality.

But, I understand that is not the standard for every culture.

A question my black followers,

Let's say a person who isn't black writes about black struggles but takes earnest feedback from black people.

Would that be okay?

I know a lot of cultures take this differently. I've also been told this is sacrilege too.

I got feedback to put a disclaimer and I think thats actually a really good idea. I do have to say that this level of carefulness is very prevalent when portraying anything Black-culture related (American esp).

But, that is understandable when most portrayals have been done by their oppressors.

Yeah, I'm aware of these completely.

I'm not actually trying to capture specifically Black struggles but my peers believe it can be taken as so. And I can see why since the char is darker skinned.

So, I was just testing the reception to this post to see how bad the reaction might be.
