This news is welcome, but tapering support so some children get more payments than others undermines the principle that all children need and deserve equal financial support.

The Chancellor must now take her mission to stand up for Britain, to stand up for children on the very lowest incomes.

This must centre on scrapping the two child limit to benefits. It's the only way she can reach her commitment to reducing child poverty at scale.

We agree with the Foreign Secretary's strong condemnation of what is happening to children in Gaza. But what is happening is more than a "moral obscenity".

In line with UN findings, what we are witnessing on the ground in Gaza is consistent with genocide.

The UK must act now to stop it.
