Improvements for native Diablo Range wildlife, like endangered San Joaquin kit fox, have been confirmed for a solar project we commented on, like revegetating the repurposed land with native species that benefit wildlife, and designing and constructing solar arrays that include wildlife corridors.

Another big win for protecting Dublin’s Urban Limit Line, and the last remaining open space between Dublin and Livermore! The Dublin City Council meeting voted on February 3, 2026 to not appeal our legal victory over Measure II.

Caught on camera in the northern Diablo Range, a golden eagle soars over the landscape.

A study found that the northern Diablo Range has the largest breeding population of golden eagles on the planet. Golden eagles are apex predators, making them vital for our ecosystems.

In a win for open space, in early December the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors approved sending a measure to renew the county Urban Limit Line to the June 2026 ballot.

We look forward to helping this key land protection measure win at the ballot box.

Toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia) is a California native; during winter, its branches become nearly overloaded with bundles of red berries. These berries are a lifeline for many of California's bird's and mammals during the cold winters.

Exciting news for the Diablo Range!

The Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency is proposing to construct up to three wildlife crossings along Pacheco Pass―one of the two freeways that cut through the Diablo Range, impeding wildlife movement.
