Look who’s trying to make a comeback at NYCC after getting forced out of DragonCon…
A screenshot showing Oriana Gerez art, the AI promoter who was kicked out of DragonCon. It shows that they intend to exhibit at New York Comic Con.

Oh good, I’m glad this could help.

Let your client know that getting the VAT number involves repeatedly hitting your head against the wall. It’s so needlessly complicated

Thank you for all the shares!

I went through the UK's giant list until I reached a site where I was able to file my return. So £5 per return going forward, then I paid the tax owed through the HMRC site.

Maybe this will help someone else out in the future. business-x.anna.money

Update: I just stated going through every site on the UK list until I found one that took it for £5 per return. Reader, I'll take it!

Maybe if I scream into the void, someone will know the answer.

I am a small business in the US trying to file and pay a UK VAT return. I have my VAT number, I am registered. I think it's absolutely ridiculous to pay over $100 a month just to file a form that needs to be done every 3 months.

God, setting it up was the worst. I think getting my husband's green card was easier.

He's British and he got to hear all my extremely inventive swearing and basically was going, "Yup, this tracks."
savvyliterate.com
Yup, that is exactly what I am running into. And I am hating it so much. We're a tiny artist-owned business, not Amazon.

We had so many requests from people in the UK to sell stuff there, and I was so happy to finally do that for them. But why is it so damn hard to actually pay my taxes?
savvyliterate.com
Is there any other US small business who has done this and has recs? Thank you!

And yes, the US does get criticized a lot, but at least it's easy for me to log into Pa.'s website and pay my sales taxes twice a year without endless BS.

Battle doomscrolling by posting 5 small pleasures in life:

1. Petting an animal. Cats mostly, but there are some very good doggos.
2. The first bite of a really good apple.
3. The breeze on a crisp, sunny fall day
4. Wearing a favorite piece of jewelry
5. A nap with a cat curled on top of you.

Artists considering tabling at Santa Fe Comic Con, beware they are not only pro-AI but are being horrible and combative in the comments toward anyone that challenges them.

If this keeps up, its going to encourage more slop peddlers to show up and get booths/tables...
Screenshot of a facebook post from Santa Fe Comic Con: "Dealer reminder, AI art can’t be sold in an artist alley spot. If you are selling AI art you must buy a standard dealer booth. And this ain’t dragon con. We don’t call the police. We got la familia protecting our artists. 😉"

I've been on HRT for a year. I recommend it. It's really helped me regarding mood, brain fog, and body things I'm not comfortable discussing on social media. But it's been amazing.

I feel my emotions are way more volatile and unpredictable and that’s with taking estrogen.

I could ask my mom, but I suspect that would lead to a recall of past sins I have no wish to relive right now.

Maru, first famous internet cat who pulled me through so many late nights in college, has passed :(

He lived to a ripe old age of 18 but I was hoping he'd crack the secrets of immortality and live forever :(((

Behold. My household Miku.
A neatly arranged wooden shelf with three levels. The top shelf displays an anime figurine of a girl with long pink hair wearing a green dress, a small LEGO bonsai tree, a black container, and a candle labeled "Thank You." The middle shelf holds four cameras. The bottom shelf contains several Nikon camera lenses. To the left is a bookshelf filled with various books, and to the right are framed posters

The stages of my cat forgiving me after being gone for 9 days:

1. Staaaaare
2. Ignore
3. Shove her butt into the webcam while on a work call
4. Yell at me
5. Acceptance
