The dude that bankrolled the movie Half Baked acquired a controlling interest in NSO Group

Doesn’t look like he’s ever ventured outside entertainment before, I don’t see any obvious connection or rationale (though I haven’t dug very deep)

This was not on my 2025 bingo card

Never again will an Apple Watch tell me to stand up when I’m already standing up.

New Pebble and old Pebbles: back in business!

Can’t think of a better way to spend Halloween than to set up old video games at my favorite bar and teach younger generations to blow on cartridges

(I do this once a month at Crafty Bastard if you’re in the Knoxville area)

And spend time with my trivia team, spending our winnings

The Pebble is baaaaaack!!!

Already doing a better job than my Apple Watch and I've had it on for 5 hours.

Cost-wise, I found it similar to northeast Brazil. I spent a month in Fortaleza and surrounding towns last summer. Highly recommend.

Absolutely, it was an excellent experience!

We are doomed to make the same mistakes with each new change in technology

Overnight, OpenAI has changed the default sharing behavior in ChatGPT, at least for the mobile app.

Instead of creating a shared link that could be indexed by search engines, it is now creating a PDF export of the results. Pretty quick response by OpenAI.

About to see F1 in a “4D” IMAX theater.

Never done 4D before. I sit down and we spot an odd button on the armrest labeled,

“water on”
“water off”

And in front of us are water nozzles

On the ceiling, big fans

But the movie itself isn’t going to be in 3D? Is that not a thing anymore?

BSides Yerevan day 1!

One of the speakers couldn’t make it, so I’ll be giving my talk today.

I’ve updated my talk, AI: Worst Superhero or Best Janitor for this event and it is super interesting how much it has changed as generative AI has changed.

Tried Elgato’s version of this a few months ago.

Do not recommend. Found it VERY unsettling.

Repair time!

Today, it is a Macbook Air that had some Arizona Mucho Mango spilled into the keyboard.

A thermal event burned out the display board, which can’t be replaced without replacing the entire screen (boooo)

The formula is pretty straightforward

And this will be the 3rd time it has happened with AI, specifically
