Isaacman’s full “Project Athena” was leaked over on Twitter. One thing that catches my eye immediately is how he fully assumes “space media” are his talking puppet. x.com/mcrs987/stat...

The amount of whining what Musk do recently is simply amazing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Help, my Saturn IB became a Cylon Basestar. Anyone seen a bug like this with Studio?

Am I the only one who completely missed that JAXA’s HTV-X1 is scheduled for NET October 21?

I'm still reading Gene Kranz's Failure Is Not an Option. Somehow, I had forgotten that all of the Gemini missions launched from LC-19. I had to relearn this today. Just think about the effort it took to put GT-6A on the pad within a week after GT-7 back in the '60s.

Oops, a few things just fell into the cart. I’m completely innocent, it was an accident!

TIL about how metals cold weld in space. A friend sent me the video below on the topic, where they build a 'simple' spring hinge for a cubesat. I really recommend it - especially for anyone who doesn't get why space is so difficult and costly.

I thought I’d give the Mars Transfer Vehicle (MTV) from the Constellation era a try. Out of the various designs, I chose the most well-known one, the 'Copernicus' with 10m tank diameter.

Here’s a rough, very early version.

14 days and probably 50–60+ hours of layout work later: the final instruction page of the Saturn V ML is done.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to do the test build before autumn - house renovations take priority now.
But finally, there will be proper space for the LEGO!

I confirmed with very good sources and the story seems to be true. I know that ESA people in human flight are quite upset too.

In all seriousness, today I got to see Artemis II (Block I), a gigantic rocket that can actually get a spacecraft out to the Moon without exploding, rapidly disassembling, or any of that nonsense:

Anyone remember Starship SN9?

So whats up with Saturn V ML? I'm working on breaking the model down into building steps.
This is the first step toward creating the instructions, and it also helps find issues before a test build. It's slow, tedious, soul-crushing work - and there's nothing visually exciting about.

The more I read Zack Goldmans posts on Twitter, the more I think that he blamed pogo just because there is well known precedent - despite SpaceX routinely creates bizarre Starship incidents that others avoid. There’s a reason rocket manuals list both longitudinal AND lateral oscillations.

Guys, remember: APCP can't explode. If an SRM could turn to be a 'dynamite stick', it would be useless for a solid rocket motor. Keep attention to the details.

Liquid fuel otherwise CAN explode.

The difference is like burning a firewood or igniting sawdust in the air (don't try it).
Details, man, details...APCP literally CAN'T explode. It can burn but can't explode because it have a pretty stable burn rate per surface. For the given Delta II flight the case started rupturing at T+6, ruptured completely at T+12. It was detected by the computer which triggered flight termination.

United Launch Alliance is currently gearing up for a slew of launches this summer, one of which will include the heaviest commercial payload ever launched coming in at over 25,700 kg, shattering the current 17,400kg record currently held by SpaceX.

Okay, I'm done for today. Bricklink Studio had a glitch with submodels and converted 2 hours of my work on Saturn V ML into nothing - the whole support frame and the deck under the umbilical tower. No part is not the best part if need it.

Luckily, I have a backup in SVN.

Good news: I’m done with the visible parts of the Saturn V Mobile Launcher!

There are still several steps left (internal structure, breaking it down into steps, test builds, etc.) - but this is definitely a major milestone.

Running a space program is like running a marathon: the best way to do it is to saw your own legs off for no reason after you get going. That always works.

What a stupid mistake: I ordered 8 linear bearing, 4 shaft and... 4 axle holder bracket. 🤦‍♂️

Obviously, everything will be closed for the rest of the week.

So, there are something ongoing with CCP (means Crew Dragon and Starliner) and Berger suggests that NASA should get rid of a Safety Advisory Panel. After shitting on Boeing for years, criticizing it every single way, what should I think what is the reason of your post?
