Ymmärrän pointin ja olen samaa mieltä. Tosin tuossa puhutaan perunan yhteydessä ympäristöstä eikä ilmastosta, mikä on sikäli oleellista, että perunan verrokkina riisinviljelyn ympäristövaikutukset ovat käsittääkseni merkittävät paitsi hiilijalanjälkensä niin erityisesti vedenkulutuksensa vuoksi.

A good rule of thumb when thinking about past human societies might be to try to avoid generalisations. If not for any other reason, then at least for the fact that what we know is much less than what we don't know. Maybe this applies to thinking in general. But I don't want to generalise.

Uutisotsikoiden muotoilussa näkyvyys ja mainostulot vaikuttavat tosiaan pääasialta. Mutta ajattelin edellisessä kommentissani asiaa yleisemmin; sen kannalta miten vähän toimittajat yleensäkään haastavat politiikkoja ja muita metsäteollisuuden lobbareita näiden samojen vanhojen harhautusten käytöstä.
