Look for an edge-case that results in extra rules and remove whatever you need to so that the edge case doesn't exist.

lol, perfect solution!

Yes, especially because this was the '18 cards but you can only use 9 per game' contest 😅. Since that's over, I can use more than just 9 now and that's going to help a lot.

Had a great Protospiel Cleveland last weekend, now back to work on fixing up an old contest entry.

Common Ground, an 18-card co-op that works well but that ends much too quickly at the moment.

Thanks! I think so too!

Yes, and they're two-part so it's easy to grab and move the tokens during gameplay. These are Game Crafter preview copies heading to reviewers so final version may look different.

Latest photos from the publisher of HARD DRIVE, my racing/hacking game that's coming to Kickstarter soon. The player tokens are even inspired by computer cursors 😅.

It's been a bit, but yes! Some people even seem to like it. Working on the next book now.

For something like this, have you ever played Berrymandering? It's a small I-cut-you-choose that does a FANTASTIC job letting players experience how gerrymandering works. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/29...

I'm intrigued! Good start!

I'm currently working on a 'Mad Max' sort of game and frankly it's hard to not just make a worse F&F 😅

...but one goal of it is definitely to be easier to learn and get on the table. Luckily some other cool stuff has come up in development to differentiate it as well!

It's astoundingly better than I expected. All the systems work so well, once you get what you're supposed to be doing and how it runs.

It's an easy trap to fall into! We spend so much time with designers and then you actually sit down with players and the conversations and experiences are drastically different. Gotta keep in mind; if they're having fun, then it's working.

I haven't played it but I understand that's the premise of 'Stay Cool'; you try to accomplish a variety of simple-but-simultaneous tasks in real-time.

Beyond real-time, no (unless you count that many games have multiple systems and things to keep track of, in which case, yes)...
